Prologue: As the Dyson Sphere Battlezone (Ground) is quite huge and contains a lot of information AND as this is my first guide whatsoever, I am open for suggestions, questions and so on. And yes, I know it's a lot to read. I try to split the information, so that it's easier to differ between younglings, advanced and speed runners. Feel free to write comments, questions here in this topic or send me an ingame mail @siritas. As I tend to afk from time to time, I might miss a direct tell, so please don't get mad if I don't respond at some point.
If you want to copy the  guide somewhere else, into another forum, whatever, I want you to ask me first. I solely decide where my work will show up or not, please respect that. If you get my OK, I want you to mention clearly who made that, which would be @siritas. Thank you!

      2.1 Introduction

The Dyson Sphere Battlezone (Ground) might be the best and fastest place to collect oodles of dilithium ore, if made correctly. It contains three daily missions, one mission you can perform per hour and of course an endless battle against the Voth, which eventually results in endless (and fast) dilithium ore.
It can be done either "alone" or in a team with others. You basically bring two members of your away team with you and they can be really helpful, so make sure you pick the right ones (in game: Press "u" -> Stations -> adjust your Standard Away Team properly. The game picks the first two in the upper row.).
Why "alone"? Because you literally can't make the whole Battlezone alone. You need other players to do it as well, but you don't have to team up with them. Details follow. It's just easier and quicker, when you team with others.

     2.2 HowTo get there?

Depending on your current location, there are different ways to get to the Ground Battlezone.
  • Sector Space -> Azure Sector, Dyson Sphere Gateway -> Travel to the Solanae Dyson Sphere -> Ground Battlezone Shuttle
  • Sector Space -> Transwarp to: Sphere Space - Allied Zone -> Ground Battlezone Shuttle
  • Dyson  Joint Command -> Talk to Battlezone Veteran -> "Yes, Take Me To The Battlezone"

     2.3 Appetizer

Why would you want to spend time there? Numbers!
Let's say you have an average run where you defeat two of three end bosses and make the four missions.
Four missions (best case) combined: 3816 dilithium ore.
Two out of three end bosses + bonus reward: 3864 dilithium ore.
Combined: 7680 dilithium ore.
Not counted: Dyson Sphere Marks & Voth Cybernatic Implants, which you can turn in for more dilithium ore.
Remember: Average run. If you helped enough in the Zone and manage to capture all three end bosses, that can go up to 7164 dilithium ore, without(!) the four missions.

On an average map you may need about 20 minutes for that, if the Zone is full and everyone (15 players combined) help.

      3.1 HowTo, General

The Dyson Sphere Battlezone (Ground) can be done by any character at Level 50 and above and consists of three great areas: City (right), Outskirts (bottom left), Park (top left) and not to forget the Command Center (middle) with Commander Arnold (there is also a merchant near him, you can sell crap and get hypos and energy cells) where you can pick up your missions. Each area has its own points, which are either controlled by Voth or by allied forces. And you guessed right: You have to take these points away from the Voth in order to provoke them to send the final enemy. A quick look at the minimap shows you which point is controlled by either Voth or Allies. Red is for the evil, blue is for the good. You do not need to control all the points, but the majority of them in order to get to the final stage.

Whenever you capture a point, the Voth retreat and you get reinforcments which try to hold the point, just like the Voth did. The Voth, however, will spawn from time to time and get that point back, but they will need time to do so. You can move on and get the next points in order to proceed.

If you see a red dotted line around a point on the minimap it means, that the Voth defeated your reinforcments and are about to capture the point. You will have to kill them ASAP in order to save that point. Not doing it will force you to capture the point again.

On the Battlezone Map you see four different symbols. You get the names when you move the mouse over them.

  • Transporter

Should be pretty clear. If the transporters are active and under allied control, you can use them to switch between the different areas, including Command Center.

Capture the transporter and you will get 5 Dyson Sphere Marks, 5 Dilithium Ore and up to about 30 Battlezone Credits.

  • Generator Point

When you reach a Generator Point, you need to push a device from one to the other side. In order to do so, you need to activate three consoles, which light up when the device is at the right position. First console makes the device move forward (and I suggest you activate the speed boost nearby as well, unless you want to waste time). The device will stop at about 1/3 of the way forward and you will need to activate the second console. After 2/3 of the way you need to activate the third console and when the device reaches the other side, the Generator Point is yours. But beware: The Voth will try to stop you and the device and they can push it back, by "repairing the generator". Kill them before they can do that.

On the image:
1: Activate device, first console
2: Speedboost
3: Starting Point of the device
4: Second console
5: Third console
6: Finish

Capturing a Generator Point will reward you with 42 Dilithium Ore, 65 Dyson Sphere Marks and up to 30 Battlezone Credits.

  • Capture Point

The Capture Point can be quite boring. The more players are standing on a Capture Point, the more fun you will have and the faster it will be complete. Whenever a Voth manages to come close enough, the capturing process stops. So kill them before they can do so. At 1/3 and 2/3 of the process a special enemy will be dropped near you: A Polyonax-class Exosuit. This huge fellow takes quite a lot damage and got a repelling barrier, which will eventually push you away. Plus he has repair drones with him. Make sure you kill him fast enough.

Capturing a Capture Point will reward you with 42 Dilithium Ore, 65 Dyson Sphere Marks and up to 30 Battlezone Credits.

  • Artillery Point

The Artillery Point has five Artillery Generators, which you need to shut down. In order to do so, you have to activate three consoles at each Generator to shut them down. They are, of course, guarded by a few Voth and repair themselfes after a certain amount of time. As do the Voth spawn again. When all five Generators are shut down, the Voth send reinforcements. If you are alone or have another player with you at that point, you will face one Ceratopsid-Class Exosuit. If there are three or more players, your enemy will be Polyonax-class Exosuit, without repelling barrier. The more players, the more enemies you get. Max I had were three Polyonax-class Exosuits. Both of them are capable of unleashing a mortar attack, so be careful when you approach them. They are also equipped with a shield, which makes them temporarly immune to damage from the direction they face.

Capturing an Artillery Point will reward you with 42 Dilithium Ore, 65 Dyson Sphere Marks and up to 30 Battlezone Credits.

3.2 Missions

You get four missions from Commander Arnold at the Command Center (middle of the map):

  • Battlezone Credits
Basically the only thing you need to do is to get the purple Battlezone Credits. To get them you need to secure points. 20 Battlezone Credits are enough to fulfill the mission. Doing so will get you 312 Dilithium Ore and 10 Dyson Sphere Marks (20 hour cooldown).

  • Request Reinforcements
With Battlezone Credits you can call in reinforcements at captured points. To fulfill the mission it is enough to call in reinforcements worthy of 40 Battlezone Credits. Doesn't hurt to get more though. More reinforcements, more marks. And you get 672 Dilithium Ore for it.

  • Secure Points
As the mission says it. Capture two points in a specific area (check the minimap) or help a teammate capture his two. Capture one of your own and one of your mates won't work though. You have to get the full two. Do it and you get 1392 Dilithium Ore and 25 Dyson Sphere Marks.

  • Defeat Voth
Kill Voth. You have to kill *any* Voth to start the counter (five minutes). So it says, but that's a bit buggy. 100% triggers are the Voth at the entrance, when you leave the Command Center. To team up is helpful in that one, as the kills from your teammate, if near enough, count as well. A normal tiny puny Voth counts one point, bigger ones count more. If you kill at least 10 Voth, you get 720 Dilithium Ore. With at least 40 dead Voth you get 1080 Dilithium Ore and above 60 dead Voth result in 1440 Dilithium Ore.
Attention! If you run alone, you might find it difficult go gather enough enemies to fill your 60 in five minutes. Sweep Generator and Artillery Points without catching them, just run through and kill everything, avoid Capture Points! If you find a group with other players, stick with them. The more players are at a point, the more enemies you will get and therefore it is easier to get your 60.

Attention! If you visit the Dyson Ground Battlezone for the first time, Arnold will give you one mission after the other. You can't pick all four together at that time. So please make sure you prepare your character(s) before you make runs with others (or ignore the missions, which will result in less reward).

3.3 Equipment & Away Team recommendations

MK XII gear is enough these days to perform in the Battlezone, as it is a Level 50 Zone. it doesn't hurt to be a little prepared at least. The Voth have Antiproton weapons, so you might want to get shield which reduce this damage type. If you manage to run Ground Elite Missions you are fine either way.
To keep your Away Team alive, don't forget their equipment. They can be really helpful, if you give them decent weapons and abilities. The Dyson Sphere Ground set is not the best, but definitely a good way to start there and with the rewards from the Battlezone you can gather the needed materials quickly. You can also get the fleet equipment (comes in ultra rare already), from which I personally would prefer, for example:
  • [Advanced Fleet Recoil Compensating Armor Mk XIV [CrtD] [PolAp] [ResAll]x2]
  • [Advanced Fleet Personal Shield Mk XIV [Cap]x3 [ResB]]
  • [Advanced Fleet Antiproton Sniper Rifle Mk XIV [CritX] [Dmg]x3] (or the split beam version. As long as it has a long range, like 35 metres. Close combat won't make you really happy)

On my main Sheryl I have two science officers (both are very rare, as everything below tends to be... slower. Literally! They don't run!) with me,
  • one equiped with a Nukara Ground Set, Refractive Bulwark at MK XIV, ultra rare, (currently switched to the Omega Force set at MK XIV, epic) and
  • the second carriers the Temporal Defense Initiative Set, MK XIV again, ultra rare / epic.

Their ground abilities are (almost) solely set to destroy and weaken.
  • Cold Fusion Flash I, II, III and Interphase Decay III on one officer,
  • Cold Fusion Flash I, II, Tricoder Scan II and Vascular Regenerator III (as the only healing ability) on the second officer.
Especially Cold Fusion Flash comes in handy, as it deals huge cold damage over time, slow, root and including possible stun.
Any other crowd control / weaken / damage abilities are nice as well though. Engineering officers with chroniton barriers tend to be deadly, if you can use them properly to place your mines in the most destructive way. I had them myself, but switched to science as they can act more freely and deal more damage (in my humble opinion).

Sidenote: As you might want to speed up a little, you can equip any weapon with [Run] mod as second weapon to switch to it, when you need to run from one point to the next. Frosted Boots will your be favourite footwear too!

Recommendation, in general:

For the run itself:

  1. Park

Leave Command Center and head left -> Generator Point -> Transporter -> Capture Point (skip if alone) -> all three Artillery Points -> Generator Point -> Capture Point (skip if alone).

  2. Outskirts

Leave Command Center and head right -> Artillery Point -> Capture Point (skip if alone) -> Generator Point -> Artillery Point -> Generator Point -> Capture Point (skip if alone) -> Transporter -> Generator Point.

  3. City

Leave Command Center and head left -> Generator Point -> Artillery Point -> Capture Point (skip if alone) -> Generator Point -> Capture Point (skip if alone) -> Artillery Point -> Capture Point (skip if alone).

This is the part you want to keep an eye on. As soon as the Ally Control is full, the final enemy will spawn. Three big Rexes, which cause great pain and take a lot of damage. But they also reward much dilithium ore and they are your main goal. One Rex for each area. City, Outskirts, Park. Mainly you kill them in this row too, unless the majority of players is located at the Park or in the Outskirts, when they spawn. You have to watch which points fall fastest and latest, before the Rexes spawn.

Basically, you start to capture points in the Park, move to the Outskirts and finish in the City, so that you get as many Rexes as possible. Most of the time City or Park first. Why? Because you can reach the spawnpoint in the Outskirts much faster then City or Park. So you enhance the chance, that you get at least two out of three. On very bad days you get none. But then you are very unlucky.

  4.1 Beginners Guide

  • Generator Point: Activate the device + boost, kill the Voth, activate the second console, kill the Voth, activate third console, kill the Voth, kill the Voth.
  • Artillery Point: If you're fast enough, deactive one one Generator after the other and shoot the protecting Voth quickly before doing so. If you don't have the firepower make two rounds. Deactive two out of three stages for all five Artillery Generators and the third stage at a second round (takes more time, but so you make sure you get them all).
  • Capture Point: Don't do it alone. Just a waste of time and it takes a lot of it. A minimum of two players is recommended. If you have two or more in summary: Stand there and shoot everything.

You can make it the same way if you have more people at your side, that way it will be faster and probably safer. But more allies at the same spot, the more enemies (and probably stronger ones) you will get.

4.2 Speedrunners Guide

  • Generator Point: Activate the device + boost, kill the Voth, position your away team at the Voth side, activate the second console, kill the Voth, move your away team a bit forward to face the next Voth wave, activate third console, kill the Voth, kill the Voth.
  • Artillery Point: One Artillery Generator after the other. You can move your away team into position for the next Generator you want to deactivate, while you disabled one.
  • Capture Point: Skip, if you don't have three players in summary.

If you have more people at your disposal, split them up to shorten your ways. For example in the Park and three people: Generator Point, Artillery Point, Artillery Point at the same time. Move on to Artillery Point and Generator Point and Transporter, then take the Capture Points together. The fastest and strongest player should have the longest way to go, as that one will need least time to finish a point. In short: Cuddle-time in while speedrunning is only allowed at Capture Points.

Final Enemy, Bio-Engineered Viriosaurus Rex

In words: Start at the City and kill the Rex, run to the Command Center, take the Transporter to the Outskirts, kill the Rex there, get back to the Transporter and move on to the Park, kill the Rex there.

Beware! With the Rexes there will be two Voth, trying to steal the Omega Particles. If they succeed, you lose the silo and a part of the reward. If you kill them, they will come back after a short time. A progress bar at the right side tells you how much they already got. If the Voth don't try to steal Omega Particles, the progress bar fills itself, so you have more time. If you are not strong enough to get the Rex down, make sure the Voth aren't able to get the Particles - and wait for others to join you.

6.1 Numbers; Icing on the cake

  • Capture six (for example) Points:
6x 42 Dilithium Ore, 65 Dyson Sphere Marks
-> 252 Dilithium Ore, 390 Dyson Sphere Marks

  • Four missions (best case) combined: 3816 Dilithium Ore.

  • Three Rexes =
672 Dilithium Ore x3 -> 2016 Dilithium Ore.
25 Dyson Sphere Marks x3 -> 75 Dyson Sphere Marks.

  • Bonus if made enough Points (six in summary for the team) and caught all three Rexes: 4680 Dilithium Ore & 90 Dyson Sphere Marks & 5 Voth Implants (2520 Dilithium Ore, if you didn't make six points).

In summary:
10764 Dilithium Ore + 555 Dyson Sphere Marks + 5 Voth Implants.
+ 10% Dilithium boost from the Research Lab: 11840 Dilithium Ore.

In addition:
500 Dyson Sphere Marks -> 5000 Dilithium Ore.
3x Voth Cybernatic Implants -> 500 Dilithium Ore.

Total:
17.340 Dilithium Ore, 55 Dyson Sphere Marks, 2 Voth Implants.

This is the final reward, if you manage to get all four missions and have a really good run with enough Points you captured AND if you got all three Rexes.

Post credits, special thanks.

Screenshots, calculations and anything else in this guide is selfmade. Some of the numbers in the missions were odd, but rest assured, I did the maths and what you see in this guide is perfectly correct, as it comes down to rewards and stuff. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a Voth Strike Commander, when you want one for your gallery?

As you probably can imagine it took a few days to gather all the data, to think about how I could write all that stuff down so that even younglings to the Ground Battlezone get an idea of what I talk about. Honestly, I just can hope that it gives an idea of the possibilities, the HowTo and what awaits you on your journey.

Keep in mind: The area is huge, so no one can check it right from the beginning. In my first days down there I killed the first Rex as they spawned and then I was like: "Where the heck shall I go now? Which direction? Where is everyone!?!?" so don't worry if the Battlezone looks confusing! Give it time, try a few runs either alone or in teams (you can ask in TIC Chat anytime if someone wants to join!), slice through the Voth and enjoy your victory!

I would like to thank those, who were involved in that project and gave me valuable input, as it comes to understandings, writing and even as I missed something or made things more unclear than I wanted them to be.

First of all, the doc, Rear Admiral Isria Lorn.
Without you, I wouldn't have written that guide and you know that. My ass still hurts from the countless times you kicked me... oh, and thank you for reading through it and for your advice. And, of course, for uploading the pictures I made into the Event Gallery (after you created it).

Then, there is our greedy Ferengi, little Num.
Thank you too for your advice and your opinion on the guide!

And last but not least, our (totally not a) spy, Elim.
I think you were the first one to read through the guide and I hope I sorted out all the things that seemed to confuse. Thank you!

Sheryl, your Dyson event went very well.  Thank you for leading us all into battle.  Splitting up the team to take an entire zone seemed very effective and and we were able to get most of the Rexes as they appeared.  I didn't keep track of all the dilithium I earned with Jorie, but at the end of the night, I had nearly 100 cybernetic implants worth around 33,000 dil alone.   8)

As for now, I consider the post finished and it is live. The last post was edited properly and the any further changes will be noted correctly in the 7th post.
I do hope that many profit from that guide and that it enlightens the (in my humble opinion) fastest way to gather dilithium.

The Dyson Ground Event was fun, although there were technical issues for a few. I was, honestly, surprised how fast we were able to gather points and lure the Rexes out as we split up.
And I'm looking forward for the next time, when a few fleeties run around there and are willing to form a team!

Thanks to all who were part of that great time! Thank you!
